Sheen Gonzales files CoC today for Congressman of Eastern Samar
Borongan City, Eastern Samar. Christopher Sheen Gonzales files his Certificate of Candidacy for Representative of the Lone District of Eastern Samar. The standard-bearer of the Nacionalista Party (NP) in said province’s Congressional bid is accompanied by Governor Marcelino Dindo Picardal and Vice-Governor Jonas Abuda.
His filing of his COC finally ended speculations of whether or not he is to seek a higher office. “I am always for the sentiments of the people,” Sheen said. It so appears that Eastern Samar finally will have its long-awaited break. Gonzales served as the province’s Vice-Governor back in 2010 and is currently serving his second term as Mayor of Guiuan. His first term as such proved to be difficult – difficult for those who doubted his leadership.
November 2013, while on his first term as Mayor, super typhoon Yolanda made its first landfall in Guiuan. Now how do you turn desolation into societal victory and progress is a question we have to ask the young aspiring Congressman.
